Conference Kidz

Learning labs built around your industry

We do not run a generic playroom. Every station in the Kidz Zone is designed around the work happening on the other side of the wall, so a child at a space conference is running a mission and a child at a beauty expo is running a styling bar.

How a lab gets built

Your industry is the curriculum

Children are naturally curious about what their parents actually do all day. We use the conference itself as the answer. Organizers give us the theme, the sponsors, and the floor plan. We do the rest.

1. We study your event

We read the agenda, the sponsor list, and the exhibitor floor. We look for the technologies, tools, and jobs a child can touch, and for sponsors whose products translate into a hands-on station.

2. We map stations to ages

Each industry concept gets built at three or four levels of difficulty so a four-year-old and a sixteen-year-old are doing recognizably the same activity at their own level, side by side.

3. We bring everything

Materials, equipment, signage, trained staff, setup, and teardown. Organizers approve a plan and then see a finished Kidz Zone. Nothing lands on your operations team.

The kit

Six station types, re-skinned for any industry

The underlying station structure stays consistent, which is how we keep quality and safety predictable across very different events. What changes is the skin: the materials, the vocabulary, and the challenge.

Build station

Kids make a physical thing. LEGO kits, foam and cardboard construction, model assembly, circuit boards, blade and body design. Whatever your industry produces, they build a version of it.

Simulation station

Kids step into the job. VR missions, mission control role-play, front-desk and counter simulations, driving and operating courses, tabletop scenarios with a problem to solve.

Systems and logic station

Kids find the pattern. Codebreaking, sorting and routing, cause-and-effect boards, risk-spotting games, beginner programming, sequencing puzzles drawn from real industry workflows.

Design and craft station

Kids make it theirs. Product and packaging design, color and pattern work, patch and logo design, blending and mixing, branding a company of their own invention.

Career station

Kids try on the role. Costumes and gear, tools of the trade, badges and titles, interviewing each other, and a take-home artifact that says what they were for the day.

Early explorer station

Our youngest guests get the same theme at a sensory level. Textured bins, oversized soft blocks, magnetic tiles, board books, and story-based play tied to the event's world.

Every Kidz Zone also includes our reading and sensory corner, a deliberately quiet space with books, calming activities, and room to decompress. It is not an afterthought. Some children need it more than they need a busy table.

Examples by industry

What the labs become

These are illustrative, not a fixed menu. We build to your event. If your industry is not listed, that is a conversation, not an obstacle.

Tell us your industry and we will build the plan

Available at every event

Core STEM stations

Alongside the industry-specific build, these four stations travel with us and work at any event. They are the backbone of the Kidz Zone.

Core 01

Sponsored LEGO engineering stations

Inspire future innovators through building.

Using custom LEGO kits inspired by the technologies and systems created by conference sponsors, children design aircraft, vehicles, robots, and mission-related structures in a fun, age-appropriate way. These stations spark creativity, connect learning to the industry, and offer sponsors a high-visibility way to engage families.

  • Ages 4 to 6. Simple builds with guidance to support creativity and early engineering concepts.
  • Ages 7 to 10. More detailed builds using themed kits (aircraft, vehicles, robotics).
  • Ages 11 to 18. Complex, challenge-based builds aligned with sponsor themes and real-world systems.
Core 02

Immersive VR experiences

Experience the future of learning in VR.

Children can fly virtual aircraft, explore space and ocean environments, solve challenges, or navigate kid-friendly cyber missions, all guided by trained staff. These simulations spark curiosity, build confidence, and bring the excitement of modern industries to life. Headsets are sanitized between users and session lengths are capped by age.

  • Ages 7 to 10. Kid-friendly simulations (space, aviation, exploration).
  • Ages 11 to 18. More advanced missions (cyber, robotics, problem-solving).

Core 03

Coding and circuits lab

Hands-on learning for future tech explorers.

Using snap circuits, beginner coding tools, and Raspberry Pi-style kits, children experiment with lights, sensors, and simple programs that bring their creations to life. These guided activities build problem-solving skills and show young learners how technology works behind the scenes.

  • Ages 7 to 10. Snap circuits, basic coding puzzles, beginner logic projects.
  • Ages 11 to 18. Raspberry Pi-style builds, simple programming, sensor-based challenges.
Core 04

Early STEM play

Fun and safe activities for our youngest explorers.

Through sensory science bins, large building blocks, magnetic tiles, simple puzzles, and story-based engineering play, little ones discover how things work in a nurturing environment. These gentle, hands-on experiences build foundational skills while keeping each child engaged and supported.

  • Ages 0 to 4. Sensory and early-building play, available to all ages.
Ground rules

How we keep specialty stations safe

Industry-specific stations introduce materials and equipment a general playroom never touches. We plan for that before the doors open, and we would rather cut a station than run it loosely.

Styling and cosmetic stations use mannequin heads and practice models. Children do not cut, chemically treat, or apply product to another person's hair, skin, or nails. No scissors, shears, razors, heat tools, or chemical products are present. Cosmetic items are non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and peel-off or wash-off, and every product in use is disclosed to parents at check-in.

Ride-on and course-based stations such as pedal cars run inside a defined, staff-controlled course with helmets required, a cleared surface, and one-at-a-time entry. Tool stations use age-appropriate or mock tools only, with staff-supervised handling and no powered equipment.

Anything a child eats, drinks, or wears on their skin requires an allergy and consent disclosure at registration, and we hold that information at the station itself so staff are not relying on memory. Parents can decline any individual station without leaving the Kidz Zone.

Why it matters

Our impact on young minds

Conference Kidz helps children build curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning through experiences that connect play with real work. When a child spends a day running a mission, styling a model, or testing a house against a storm, they are not being babysat. They are getting an early, concrete answer to what people in this industry do.

That answer sticks. It is also the reason organizers see the Kidz Zone show up in attendee feedback, and the reason sponsors keep asking to put their name on a station.
